basic outline & aim:

the home ed clay project is a creative offering especially for the home ed community. it aims to provide an accessible & affordable way for young people to be introduced to pottery & ceramics, to build their confidence in the craft as well as explore their individual creativity. making with clay doesn’t always have to the same path as others - our processes can differ to achieve the same outcome!

cost:
£50 per participant | 10% sibling discount will be available
unfortunately, my funding bid for this project was not successful - but have tried to keep the cost of participating in this multi-part creative project as affordable as possible.

about the project leader/artist:

my name is lizzie! i’m a colchester-based ceramic artist, and have been teaching clay workshops for young people & adults since 2023. i have prior experience of working artistically with children & young people within both a school & extra-curricular context. i also have experience of leading creative activities with vulnerable, neurodiverse & SEN children and young people.
as a neurodivergent artist, i do my best to ensure my workshops are a safe, supportive & calming place for participants to explore their creativity.

taster sessions:
wednesday 2nd april | 30 min sessions
9.30 & 10.15am

30-minute taster sessions for potential participants to check out the venue and get a quick introduction to clay (feeling the texture, having a go at making something). participants & parents can also ask any questions they might have about the project.

the taster sessions are completely free, but you must sign up prior to attending. you only need to attend one of the sessions. a sign up link is at the bottom of this page.
